Grey (white) Straight Egyptian Gelding (16.11.2011)

El-Masri Sadeek is the first straight Egyptian gelding by our classic foundation sire Halimas El Nizr (Anaza El Nizr x Halimas Tiara (imp USA)) and is everything we had hoped for; structurally correct with loads of Arabian type.

Sadeek is out of Halimas Haleekha who is by the imported stallion Halibi (x El Norous) who proved himself to be an outstanding sire. Halimas Haleekha is out of the beautiful imported mare Haleekha, who was sired by Ibn El Mareekh, the best known son of El Mareekh. There is very little El Mareekh blood in Australia.

Sadeek has successfully completed four 80 km rides and on 17 June 2017 completed his first 100km ride finishing 3rd in the middle weight division with Daniel Noble in just 6:16:00.

Sadeek has been sold to ABH Endurance where we hope he will enjoy a long and successful career.

We are both pleased and a little disappointed to announce the sale of El-Masri Jadeed to HH Sheik Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Jadeed will be sorely missed. He has been a favourite at the stud for many years, being the first son of our senior sire, Halimas El Nizr. Jadeed has provided us with some great and memorable moments both on the race tracks of Caulfield and Moonee Valley and in endurance, having successfully completed three 80 Km rides with the expert assistance of Kim Noble of Springridge Racing and Endurance. Jadeed inherited his sire’s great balance, athleticism and temperament and we are sure he will continue to develop into an exceptional endurance performer.

Having successfully completed two 80km endurance rides El-Masri Jadeed returns to the race track for the running of the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup at Sandown Park on 26 January 2015. Under the watchful eye of Kim Noble (Springridge Racing Stables) Jadeed has been going through his paces in preparation for the big day. Win, lose or draw Arabian racing is loads of fun and just another way of showcasing the breed that we all love to the world at large. I would encourage any Arabian horse enthusiast to attend to support the event. I would also like to thank the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage as the organising body of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayad Al Nahyan’s Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival for its continued support of Arabian racing in Australia.

On 1 November 2014 El-Masri Jadeed competed in his first endurance ride over 80km at Eldorado in Victoria. He then went on to compete over 80km in the Canberra Endurance ride in Canberra on 22 November in very tough conditions with temperatures getting close to 40 degrees.

On 23 November 2014 Kim Noble of Springridge Racing and Endurance Stables wrote, “(El-Masri Jadeed) will go a long way in endurance. Just starting into the sport and coping with the most challenging of ride conditions!” and Emma Holland described him as “… definitely a star of the future.” We look forward to Jadeed’s continued involvement in the sport.

On 1 February 2014 El Masri Jadeed lined up for the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship over 1400 metres at Caulfield. Ridden by international jockey Hana Jurankova and in just his second race Jadeed ran a creditable 6th. Very much the baby of the race at just 4 years Jadeed was with the leaders at the final turn but was unable to keep up to the pace over the last 200 metres. Still it was great experience for him and for the Stud and we look forward to better things as he matures. Still in its infancy in Australia Arabian racing is slowly gaining acceptance within the broader racing industry and support within the Arabian horse community.

We would like to express our gratitude to HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous support of Arabian racing in Australia and the team at NARA for all the hard work that goes into organizing these events. We would also like to thank Kim Noble of Springridge Racing and Endurance Stables for all her hard work in preparing Jadeed for the big event.

We would encourage other owners and breeders to get involved in Arabian racing; it is great fun and has the potential to be very rewarding.

Update on Rafeeq (Sanadik Ibn Estopa x Halimas Danielle) Amanda reports:

“Just letting you know, Raf and I are going to attempt his very first 40ker in Moyston next weekend.
I have been really impressed with him in the 20k rides I have put him through this year, so I think it’s time to step up.
We went to Ararat last weekend for a 20k ride, his heart rate was 34 pre ride 36 afterwards…. I think he might be made for this Steve!!!”

We wish Amanda and Raf well on their first 40k ride. Raf is a half brother to El-Masri Jadeed. Jadeed is booked to commence his training with Carlos Tabernaberri of Whispering Acres later this year. It was Carlos who got Raf off to such a good start with his training.
