Welcome to Blackwood Farm Arabian Stud

Blackwood Farm Arabian Stud is located on the northern slopes of the beautiful Macedon Ranges in Victoria, Australia, just 45 minutes from Melbourne International Airport.

Blackwood Farm is home to the beautiful “El- Masri” straight Egyptian and Egyptian related horses.  We are committed to breeding functional riding horses that exhibit true Arabian type, correct conformation and that have great temperaments.

Blackwood Farm’s foundation sire, Halimas El Nizr (deceased) (Anaza El Nizr x Halimas Tiara (Imp USA)), was just such a horse.  Nizr was a beautifully balanced, correct stallion that exhibited plenty of Arabian type and had a perfect temperament.  Nizr continues to influence our breeding program through his beautiful daughters and granddaughters.  

Nizr’s successor, GR Amarillo (DE) (Classic Shawan x Halims Asmara) is a true desert classic: dry and correct with dark expressive eyes, dark pigmentation and a bannering tail carriage.  Amarillo is a son of the multi champion Classic Shadwan (Alidaar x Shagia bint Shadwan) and Halims Asmara (Ansata Halim Shah x Lancer’s Asmara), also a multi champion.
